Program Specific Outcomes

Upon completion of the M.A. programme, Upon completion of the MDP, the students will be able to attain/learn/acquire:

PO-1: Domain knowledge to understand the foundational principles of the subject.

PO-2: Appropriate utilization of learning resources, including libraries, e-learning resources and ICT tools, to enhance one's knowledge base and stay abreast with recent developments. 

PO-3: Analytical ability to analyze the phenomena in the discipline with the help of appropriate approaches.

PO-4: Critical thinking and problem-solving in the discipline domain by using appropriate techniques and approaches to arrive at viable conclusions and logical solutions. 

PO-5: Capacity of Project Management to identify research problems by using appropriate methodologies to analyze and interpret data by adopting a scientific approach.

PO-6: The ability of individuals and teamwork to effectively accomplish tasks independently and as a member or leader of a team in multidisciplinary settings. 

PO-7: Effective verbal, non-verbal, and written communication with media, electronic media, the academic community, and society. 

PO-8: Environmental awareness is needed to understand the impact of politics on local, national, and international levels on the environment and to work out viable solutions for sustainable development. 

PO-9: Professional ethics to discharge academic and other responsibilities in an effective manner.

Upon completion of the M. Phil. programme, the students will able to  :

PSO 1:  Gain theoretical and practical knowledge to conduct research in the different fields of political science and further pursue a career in research through Ph.D. and other R&D programs. 

PSO 2: Learn to survey literature, earmark research gaps, hypothesize research problems, and design research objectives.

PSO 3:  Use advanced techniques for the collection and analysis of data.

PSO 4:  Acquire skills to review literature, formulate research problems and write a report.

Upon completion of the Ph. D. programme, the students will be able to :

PSO 1: Develop a substantive knowledge base in their area of specialisation.

PSO 2: Master the analytical and methodological skills required to evaluate and conduct research independently.

PSO 3: Identify and appropriately apply a range of methods used by political scientists. 

PSO 4: Demonstrate the ability to communicate the results of their research in a clear and effective manner.

PSO 5: Demonstrate an understanding and concern for high ethical standards in research and teaching.

PSO 7: Demonstrate the ability to teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in their area of specialisation

PSO 8: Acquire essential skills to pursue research as a career in various research institutions and universities.
