The University of Jammu became the first University in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir to establish a Community Radio Station, 91.2 FM Dhwani JU. The Community Radio Station (CRS) was formally inaugurated by Sh. Manoj Sinha, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor J&K UT and Chancellor, University of Jammu in the presence of Sh. Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar, Advisor to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, J&K UT and Prof Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu.
91.2 FM Dhwani JU provides a platform to the students, faculty and local people to express themselves and showcase their creativity. Programmes broadcast by the community radio are heard within a radius of 10 to 15 km from the University. 91.2 FM Dhwani JU not only addresses the needs of the campus population but also those who are outside the University and are part of the community.
