Introduction

About Theatre: Drama is deep rooted in people’s culture. It is a collaborative art form which combines words, voice, movement, music and visual elements to express meaning. Theatre and performance constitutes a significant part of public entertainment and festivity. It is a powerful mode of cultural expressionthrough its manifestations and engagements with multiple subjects derived from mythology, history and literature. It can create awareness, incite audience, mobilize collective action and produce immediate responses. Unlike the electronic media which attempt to
create virtual reality, theatre makes use of live performers and transmutes even the most crucial issues of individual and collective life in a subtle way. Theatrical performances provide platform to visualize the events with varying and different perspectives and thus modify established popular perceptions.
