STATUTES: INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ADMISSION

INTRODUCTION: National Education Policy (NEP) - 2020 has emphasised that India is committed towards revamping and reinvigorating the higher education system by taking its rightful place amongst the best higher education systems in the world. The NEP extensively focuses on attaining the highest global standards in the quality of higher education. Further, it reinforces the need to attract a greater number of international students and achieve the goal of “internationalisation at home” which means integrating the dimensions of international learning environment within our higher education institutions. This policy appreciates the critical need to promote India as a “global study destination providing premium education at affordable costs thereby helping to restore its role as “Vishwa Guru”.

University of Jammu is an A+ University and ranks among the top 100 universities in the country. Besides, Commonwealth University Ranking (CWUR) has recently listed the University of Jammu among the top 2000 global universities. Keeping in mind the interest among the foreign students for their admission in Indian universities in general and University of Jammu in particular the students from abroad including Foreign Nationals, Non-Resident Indian (NRI) and Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) will be admitted to the University of Jammu subject to the fulfilment of their eligibility under different graduate, post graduate and doctoral programmes. The candidates shall have to meet the eligibility conditions for admission as laid down for the respective undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral (Ph. D.) programmes.
