The Department of Urdu , University of Jammu, in collaboration with the National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL) Ministry of MHRD Govt. of India , organized a three-day workshop on "The Importance of Urdu Journalism and the Development of Professional Skills in Journalism" from 18/10/2018 to 20/10/2018. This workshop focused on emphasizing the crucial role of Urdu journalism and enhancing the professional skills of participants in this field. It included sessions led by industry experts, providing attendees with in-depth knowledge and practical training to excel in Urdu journalism.

The Department of Urdu at the University of Jammu, in collaboration with the National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL) Ministry of MHRD Govt. of India, organized a five-day capacity-building workshop specifically for Urdu journalists in the Jammu region from 26 of November to 30th November 2021. This workshop aimed to enhance the skills and capabilities of Urdu journalists, providing them with advanced training and professional development opportunities. Through interactive sessions, expert-led discussions, and hands-on exercises, participants gained valuable insights and practical knowledge to improve their journalistic practices and contribute more effectively to the field of Urdu journalism.

The Department of Urdu, University of Jammu, in collaboration with the Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) University of Jammu, organized a one-week Research Methodology workshop from December 10, 2021 to December 16, 2021. This workshop was designed to equip participants with essential research skills and methodologies, fostering a deeper understanding of academic research processes. Featuring sessions led by experienced scholars and experts, the workshop provided attendees with comprehensive training in research techniques, data analysis, and scholarly writing, enhancing their capabilities to conduct high-quality research in the field of Urdu studies.
