Program specific outcomes

PSO1: Understanding the inheritance patterns and genetic differentiation of humans.

PSO2: Acquiring knowledge about the main concepts of human biochemical genetics, immunogenetics, molecular biology and biostatistics.

PSO3: Evaluating the role of genetic changes in association with various diseases and disorders.

PSO4: Gaining an insight into the various aspects of molecular & cell biology and basics of genomics that can be used in early identification and prognosis of human diseases.

PSO5: Learning various practical and analytical techniques enabling the students to pursue higher education. In addition, the students can explore research areas in various scientific institutions, or get employed in clinical centres, hospitals along with diagnostic and research laboratories.

PSO6: Familiarizing with the prospects of pharmacogenetics, immunology and cell signalling and their regulation of various diseases.

PSO7: Identifying research gaps, designing analytical experiments and methodologies, compiling and interpreting the collected data and focusing on the societal benefits of the research work.

PSO8: Identification of the genetic risk factors based on an expert review of personal and family health histories, moulds the students to be Genetic counsellors.

PSO9: Beneficial in the management of health care and future perspectives of gene mapping and gene therapy, so as to develop targeted treatment that can be available at gene level.

PSO10: Fill their talent gaps in the emerging field in Human Genetics by addressing the increasing need for skilled scientific manpower in the field of basic and applied human genetics.
