Seminars/workshops/conferences organized:

• Workshop on "Gender sensitization" was organised for the PG students of Department of Zoology, Institute of Human Genetics and School of Biotechnology, University of Jammu on Thursday, 30th September 2021 at 2:30 pm on google meet. The resource person for the workshop was Dr. Anurekha Chari Wagh, Associate Professor, Department of Sociology, University of Hyderabad

• Workshop on “Fundamentals of Bioinformatics” was organized by Institute of Human Genetics, University of Jammu in collaboration with Department of Zoology, University of Jammu from I st to 7 th March, 2021 under RUSA-2.0 through online mode. The resource persons for the workshop were Dr. V. S. Sundarararajan, Data Scientist, Nanyang Technical University, Singapore, Dr. Prashanth N Suravajhala Senior Scientist, System Biology, Department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, Birla Institute of Scientific Research, Jaipur, India and Dr. Ashok Kumar, Centre for Systems Biology and Bioinformatics, Punjab University, Chandigarh.

• Workshop on “Essentials in Biostatistics: One week workshop on “Biostatistics” was organized by Institute of Human Genetics, University of Jammu from 23 rd Nov. to 29 the Nov, 2020 under RUSA 2.0 through virtual (online) mode. The resource person for the workshop was Dr. Rajesh Verma, Asstt. Prof. FGM, Govt. College Hisar.
• One day seminar on Recent Trends in Human Genetics organised by IHG on 4^th of Feb., 2020. The invited speakers were Prof. RNK Bamezai, former Director National Centre of Applied Human Genetics, JNU and Prof. BK Thelma, Dept. of Genetics, South Campus, Delhi.
• One day Awareness camp on Leukaemia’s was organised in GDC, Samba on 10^th Dec., 2019 and Dr. Megha Sharma from Super Speciality Hospital, Jammu was the invited medical officer.
• The staff members of the department both Teaching and Non teaching show active participation in the events organized by the University and other departments like conferences and workshops. The Department has hosted a number of Technical sessions of many conferences organized by the University.  Recently, in the month of January, 2018, practical sessions were organized in the department during the One Week National workshop on Practical Skill Enhancement for College teachers.
• Invited Lecture on “Stem Cell Culturing” by Prof Suresh Bihari was organized in January 2018.
• Guest lecture on “The Human Race” was delivered by Prof. SMS Chahal, Dept of Biodiversity, Patiala University, Punjab.
• Interaction Lecture was delivered by Dr. Arun Arora (Gynecologist & Infertility Expert) who in his impressive talk discussed the various career opportunities for the students of Human Genetics was also organized by the department in October, 2017.
• Seminar on “an introduction to the basics of Human Cytogenetic and Human Genetic Disorders” was organized in Sept, 2017.
• Invited Lecture on “Behavioral Genetics- Predicting, Detecting and Treating the hereditary genetic disease” was organized in April 2017.
• National seminar on “Biodiversity and conservation” was organized in collaboration with Department of Zoology in March, 2017.
