VCJU Emphasis on e-Governance, Congenial work environment and transparency in Office functioning
In an endeavour to interact and assess the working environment of the faculty, Officers and Non-teaching staff, Vice-Chancellor of the Jammu University, Prof Umesh Rai on Wednesday paid his maiden visit to the Administrative, Academic and Examination Wings of the Varsity. Vice-Chancellor emphasized on providing a better working environment with well-equipped infrastructure. Prof Rai gave on spot necessary directions to the concerned officers to start the process of introducing Modular Work Stations/State of the art Office infrastructure for the employees in a phased manner as per the contemporary requirements. Vice-Chancellor exuded that University must gear up for the introduction of e-Governance to improve transparency and objectivity in the overall functioning of the University. During the visit, Prof Rai said that we must realise the paramount importance of basic facilities like adequate availability of drinking water, electricity and clean washrooms etc for staff and students. Vice-Chancellor also observed that there is a need for the augmentation of the Central Storage facility in the University and in that regard on spot directions was passed on to the Executive Engineer. Vice-Chancellor also interacted with the staff of various Sections and enquired about their work processes and related needs. Vice-Chancellor was flanked by Prof Naresh Padha, Dean Academic Affairs, Prof Rajni Kant, Director, CDC, Prof Arvind Jasrotia, Registrar, Prof Jasbir Singh, COE, Prof Parkash Antahal, DSW besides other Senior Officials of the University.
