Jammu University Celebrates Constitution Day

On account of the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and the Constitution day of India, The Law School, University of Jammu organized an oath-taking ceremony to pledge to uphold the Fundamental Duties enshrined in IV A and Article 51 A of the Indian Constitution.

Prof. Manoj K Dhar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu, the Chief Guest on the occasion threw light on the relevance of the Indian Constitution and reminded the youth of the responsibility to respect and uphold the Indian Constitution thereby taking the country forward in challenging times. Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Registrar and Dean Faculty of law was the Guest of honour on the occasion. Book authored by Dr. Bindu Sangra, the Law School titled “Expanding Horizons of article 21 of Indian Constitution: A Critique” was also released at the event. The book highlights the different facets of article 21 of the Indian Constitution. Earlier, Prof. Manju Jamwal, Director, The Law School presented a formal welcome address. Dr. Seema Rohmetra conducted the proceedings and Dr. Monika Bhardhwaj presented a formal vote of thanks. Dr. Bindu Sangra conducted the proceedings of the event.  Students of different semesters that included  Akanksha, Ajay lakhotra, Aaditya Mahajan, Ratul Dhiman and  Insha Dawood shared their feelings with respect to the Indian constitution. Among others, Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Special Secretary to Vice-Chancellor, faculty members and around 150 students were also present on the occasion.
