UIET JU organises student induction program 

Jammu, Sept 18: One-week Student Induction Program aimed at welcoming and orienting new students of academic session 2025-26 was inaugurated at UIET, Kathua, University of Jammu. The first day of the Student Induction Program commenced with the auspicious lamp lighting followed by welcome address by In-charge Principal, UIET, Kathua Campus, Dr. Rockey Gupta. 

Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Rector/Coordinator, UIET, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu,congratulated the students and encouraged them to actively participate in the curricular and co-curricular activities throughout their course for their wholistic development.  

The resource persons during the inaugural session were Mr.Ajay K. Sharma, Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and Er. Ritika Gupta, Assistant  Professor, School of Management, UIET, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu. 

Mr. Ajay K. Sharma delivered a lecture on “Personality Development” emphasizing personality development as the process of refining an individual’s unique pattern of thoughts, feelings,  behaviours, influenced by a combination of genetic predispositions, environmental factors and  personal experiences. 

Key aspects of the lecture included self-awareness, emotional control,  communication skills, attitude, personal growth, career success, improved relationships and self confidence.  

Er. Ritika Gupta explained Professional Ethics to the students enlightening them on code of conduct, integrity, objectivity, competence, confidentiality, professional behaviour, compassion, empathy, accountabilty, diversity, transparency and collaboration. 

The new batch was taken on campus visit covering labs,workshop and hostels and the day concluded with Mentor-Mentee Interaction.
