JU's “Display Your Talent 2024 - Ravi Zone” concludes at Kathua Campus

The Display Your Talent-2024, Ravi Zone, organised by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu, concluded today at Kathua Campus with great enthusiasm and celebration. The event was graced by the Chief Guest Prof. Monika Chadha, Chairperson Campus Cultural Committee, University of Jammu; Prof. Sarika Manhas, Co-Chairperson Campus Cultural Committee, University of Jammu; Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Rector Kathua Campus, along with faculty members of Kathua Campus and faculty members of various colleges of Ravi Zone, participants, and students.

Prof. Monika Chadha, Chairperson of the Campus Cultural Committee, University of Jammu in her address, shared with the audience the history of the "Display Your Talent" event. She highlighted the new format introduced this year, where the competition was organized across five distinct zones of Jammu Province: Pir Panjal Zone (Rajouri-Poonch), Tawi Zone (Jammu), Chenab Zone (Doda, Kishtwar, and Ramban), Devika Zone (Udhampur and Reasi), and Ravi Zone (Kathua and Samba). Prof. Chadha also highlighted the enthusiastic participation of over 200 students from ten Degree Colleges that made "Display Your Talent" a vibrant and inclusive celebration of student creativity. She congratulated all the participants, recognizing that their enthusiasm was key to making such a large-scale event possible. 

2595Today's events featured a distinguished panel of judges, consisting of respected professionals from a variety of fields. The judges for the Western Vocal solo included Mr. Narinder Wazir and Mr. Andrew. The debate, elocution and quiz were judged by Dr. Shubra Jamwal and Revika Arora, while the dance category was evaluated by Ms. Shivani Kapoor and Ms. Ritika Sountra. This distinguished panel worked together to ensure that all performances were evaluated with the highest standards of professionalism and fairness. Dr. Jasleen Kour was the observer for the Day 3.

The first day of Display Your Talent at Ravi Zone included Group Song (Indian), Light Vocal Solo, Folk Instrumental Solo, Collage, Cartooning, Poster Making, Photography and Installation.

The second day included Mimicry, Mime, One Act Play, Skit, Rangoli, Painting, Mehandi and Clay Modelling.

The third day of 'Display Your Talent-2024' at Kathua Campus featured music, dance, and literary competitions. In the quiz competition, GDC Kathua bagged the first prize, GDC Samba clinched the second prize, SVCN Kathua secured third prize, and Kathua Campus got Certificate of Merit.

The Debate competition saw GDCW Kathua securing 1st Prize, GGLDM Degree College Hiranagar got second prize and GDC Kathua secured third prize. In Elocution, Muskan Thakur and Aabha from GDCW Kathua secured first and second prize respectively and Shivangi Rajwal from Kathua Campus got third prize. Umesh, GDC Kathua excelled in Western Vocal Solo securing first prize, Mannat Jamwal, GDC Samba got second position and Chatan Sharma, GGJDM Degree College Hiranagar bagged third position, while GDC Kathua won the Western Group Song competition. In Group Dance Folk, GDC Kathua bagged first position followed by GDC Samba securing second position.

The valedictory session was conducted by Dr. Nisha Choudhary which concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Dr. Sourbh I/c MCA.
