One week workshop on “Financial Literacy” in blended mode starts at International Centre for Cross Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR & HRM) University of Jammu, Jammu under the leadership of Prof. Hardeep Chahal, Director ICccR & HRM, University of Jammu, Jammu. Mr. Akhil Chopra from The BSE Institute Ltd. was the resource person for the workshop. The BSE Institute Ltd. is the wholly owned subsidiary of the BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange) Limited, offering certification courses and professional courses in the domains of financial markets, financial technology, data science, securities law and financial journalism.
On the day one of the workshop, the resource person started the session with the importance of financial literacy and its benefits in the current environment. He further added that the sole goal of financial literacy based programs is to enhance the understanding of concepts like mutual fund, financial planning etc. The resource person also discussed that how financial literacy based skills can open ways to wealth-building opportunities and to make career in the sectors like financial services, banking etc. having high employability potential. The students were also enriched with sufficient knowledge and awareness about choosing career in Assets Management Companies (AMCs) like HDFC Mutual fund, ICICI Mutual Fund, Axis Mutual Fund.
About 38 students of semester I and semester II attended the workshop and gained many new insights in the field of financial services. The session was coordinated by Dr. Swati Sharma and Dr. Shivani Rana.
