The University of Jammu witnessed a remarkable intellectual spectacle today as the Department of Students Welfare organized a Quiz and Essay Writing Competition under the banner of Viksit Bharat@2047.
The competition unfolded, captivating the academic prowess and creative spirit of participating students. Crafted to propel India into a developed Nation by 2047, this event featured a stimulating Quiz and an insightful Essay Writing Competition. It encouraged students to showcase their knowledge and articulate their thoughts on the themes of Viksit Bharat.
Enthusiastic students from various teaching departments actively engaged, contributing to the vibrant academic atmosphere of the university. The Quiz segment challenged participants with a diverse range of questions on the various Government initiatives for the development of India.
The Essay Writing Competition provided a platform for students to delve into an in-depth exploration of the themes ‘My Idea of Viksit Bharat’ and ‘Role of Youth in Viksit Bharat’, expressing their ideas with eloquence and clarity.
The event was organized under the able guidance of Prof. Pankaj K. Srivastava, Convener, Viksit Bharat Campaign, University of Jammu. Prof. Virender Koundal composed an explicit Quiz content and Dr. Sadaf Shah was the adjudicator for the Essay Writing Competition.
This event is a testament to the ongoing efforts by the University of Jammu to provide enriching experiences to the students that contribute in achieving the goals of sustainable development and evolving India into a developed nation.
In Essay Writing Competition, Anshika from the Law School secured First Position, Vivek from Department of Biotechnology and Ishita Bandral from the Law School secured Second and Third positions respectively. In Quiz, the team of Nikhil Parihar, Rajesh Singh and Abhi Sharma from the Department of Library Sciences secured First Position, the second position was clinched by the team of Dhriti Gupta, Somya Diwakar and Vivek Sharma from Department of Sociology. The team of Aditi Sharma, Ashish and Umar Shafi from the Department of Physical Education stood third.
The events of DSW are conceived, planned and organised by the team consisting of Prof. Prakash Antahal (Dean Students Welfare), Prof. Monika Chadha (Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee), Prof. Sarika Manhas (Co-Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee), Dr. Pritam Singh (Associate Dean SW), Dr. Garima Gupta (Assistant Dean, SW), Dr. Shallu Sharma & Dr. A.R. Manhas (Deputy Proctors), members of Campus Cultural Committee, Ms Mansi Mantoo (Media Officer), Sumeet Sharma (Drama Instructor) and Ifra Kak (Cultural Officer) and members of Campus Cultural Committee. The hall management was looked after by Kulbhushan Thakur, Sachin Sharma, Arif Paul and R.P. Singh.
