In continuation to the series of events being organized by the University of Jammu to commemoration of 77th Independence Day and under ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’, a zestful Tiranga Rally was organized today at University of Jammu. Prof. Umesh Rai, esteemed Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu led the rally which was attended by a large number of teaching faculty, officers, students, scholars and employees of the University. Prof. Rajni Kant, Dean Research Studies, Prof. Anju Bhasin, Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Meena Sharma, Dean Planning, Prof Rahul Gupta, Registrar, Prof. Rajeev Ratan, CDC, HoDs and many others enior officials also participated in the rally.
Prof. Umesh Rai, in his address, said the message across the country from the University of Jammu is that we will not compromise on the pride and the dignity of the nation.
“We should rise above religion, region, caste and creed and work for steering the nation towards highest pinnacles of progress and prosperity in true spirit of “Meri Maati Mera desh”, he added. He also invited civil society to come to the University of Jammu and feel the ambience of patriotism under 135 feet tall National Flag installed in the University.
After the culmination of the rally, a vibrant cultural programme was also presented by the students and employees of the University. The participants showcased their talents through music, poetry, and other artistic expressions, captivating the audience. The performances not only entertained but also conveyed a message of unity, love for the country, and the importance of preserving our hard-fought freedom.
