The Placement Cell, University of Jammu, is developing active liaison with various industries and companies for placement of students of various departments/disciplines. A placement drive for Semester 4 Biotechnology and Microbiology students was organized  by the Placement Cell, University of Jammu, for a pharmaceutical company M/s Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals Ltd., New Delhi. M/s Akums represents the largest contract manufacturing pharmaceutical company of India, and deals in the manufacturing and export of formulations in a wide spectrum of dosage forms & therapeutic segments. The company expertises in pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, cosmetics & dermatology, and API, and is suppliers to almost all Indian and several multinational pharmaceutical companies across the globe.

For placement the interviews were planned to be conducted in 2 or 3 phases in an ONLINE mode through Zoom platform. The first phase of interview was conducted  in the School of Biotechnology. Earlier Prof. Sanjana Kaul, Director, School of Biotechnology, and Prof. BK Bajaj, Dean, Students Placement, University of Jammu, interacted with interviewees, and counselled them to perform well, and wished them the very best for the interview. Dr. Ritu Mahajan, Departmental Placement Coordinator, welcomed the interview board of M/s Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals Ltd., and Ms Shilpa Chaku, Training and Placement Officer, University of Jammu, registered the students for the interview.  The interview for phase 2 and 3 will be conducted as per the schedule provided by the company.
