The Summer Camp for Children organized by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu concluded at Brig. Rajinder Singh Auditorium with scintillating performances by children which they had prepared during the camp. Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Registrar University of Jammu was the Chief Guest at the occasion who appreciated the endeavours of Dean Students Welfare and his team to come up with such a wonderful programme.

Children were given training in Theatre, Fine Arts and Dance by the experts in this camp Mr. Sumeet Sharma (Drama Instructor SW), Simran Dogra (Painting Department, IMFA), Ms. Ankita Yadav (Dance Department, IMFA) were the resource persons of the camp who inculcated creative skills amongst the participants.

Prof. Arvind Jasrotia expressed his gladness on watching soulful performances by the children. He also felicitated the participants alongwith Prof. Prakash Antahal (Dean Students Welfare), Prof. Monika Sethi (Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee), Prof. Sarika Manhas (Co-Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee), Prof. Vishav Raksha and Dr. Garima Gupta (Assistant Dean, SW).

Earlier, in his address, Prof. Monika Sethi shared that other than organizing several programmes of cultural and literary importance for the students and scholars of the university, the Department of Students Welfare regularly organizes the Summer Camp for the wards of university employees which provides an opportunity to them to sharpen their skills. Moreover, it is during such camps, children get an atmosphere where in addition to learning, they get a chance to interact with each other and share the ideas. The Department of Students Welfare initiated this activity in the year 2015, since then best efforts are being put in to make this event a unique fun and learning experience for the children.

The event was witnessed by faculty members, officers, officials of the university and members of Campus Cultural Committee. Prof. Sarika Manhas presented the vote of thanks. The event was coordinated by Ms Mansi Mantoo, Ms Ifra Kak & Sumeet Sharma. Sound was looked after by Kulbhushan Thakur and Arif Paul.

Children who  participated in the summer camp included Shiva Gupta, Adhyan Langer, Khushi, Iknoor Kaur, Madhav Thakur, Yakshita Singh, Ishanvi Salaria, Jyanvi Salaria, Ahil Sharma, Muskan Bhagat, Kabish Kumar, Bharti Kavya Chaudhary, Amarta Choudhary, Pratham, Prateek, Atulaya Anand, Afreen, Aanishka Dogra, Vanshika Dogra, Priyanshu Kumar, Saavi Singh, Aradhya Sharma, Vidyut Seth, Mishita, Ashwika Verma, Hrudhvi Singh, Nivritti Singh, Samrath Singh, Hanah and Aadvika Khajuria.
