Under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Ministry of Culture launched Har GharDhyan campaign in collaboration with Art of living foundation to conduct free introductory sessions on Meditation and Mental health for the people of all walks of life. The maiden session on Har GharDhyan was organized in University of Jammu in collaboration with Directorate of Physical Education and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on 21 June 2023 on the occasion of International Yoga Day.More than 150 participants including faculty members, staff members, students, scholars and people from civil society participated in the campaign. Prof. Naresh Padha, Dean Academic Affairs, University of Jammu was the Chief Guest of the occasion. Ms. Vandana Daftri, Regional Director, Art of Living was the special resource person of the occasion. She presented an introductory talk on Meditation and Mental Health and made participants practice different pranayama and meditation. Shri. Archit Puri, Chairman, CII was the Guest of Honour of the event. Dr.Shallu Sehgal, Meditation Ambassador, University of Jammu presented the welcome address. In her address, she expressed her gratitude to Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Umesh Rai for giving her the opportunity to organize sessions on Har GharDhyan.She also introduced the participantsabout Har GharDhyan campaignand express her heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Vandana Daftri from Art of livingfoundation for coming all the way from Srinagar to conduct the campaign. She furtherthankedDr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Physical Education, University of Jammuand Shri Archit Puri, chairman CII for the collaboration and providing all the support for the successful conduction of the event. The entire proceedings of the event was conducted by Dr. Mandeep Singh. He also presented the formal vote of thanks. Among others, Prof. Jasbir Singh, Prof. Pankaj Srivastava, Prof. Lalit Sen, Dr. Hema Gandotra,Dr. Sumita Sharma, Dr. Meghana Dhar, Dr. Inderjeet,Dr. Amit and Dr. Monika Bhardwajalso participated in the campaign.
