Program Specific Outcomes

Upon completion of the M.A. programme, the students will able to :

PO 1:Domain knowledge: Conceptual understanding of the foundational principles of the subject.

PO 2: Resource utilization: Cultivate the skills to acquire and use appropriate learning resources, including libraries, e-learning resources, and ICT tools, to enhance one's knowledge base and stay abreast of recent developments. 

PO 3:Analytical thinking: Develops the ability to analyse the issue with appropriate approaches.

PO 4: Critical thinking and Problem-solving: Identify and critically analyze pertinent problems in the relevant discipline using appropriate techniques and approaches to arrive at viable conclusions/solutions. 

PO 5:Project Management: Demonstrate knowledge and scientific understanding to identify research problems, design experiments,

use appropriate methodologies, analyze and interpret data; scientific manuscript writing and original research presentations. Exhibit organizational skills and the ability to manage time and resources. 

PO 6: Individual and team work: Exhibit the potential to effectively accomplish tasks independently and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings. 

PO 7:Effective Communication: Communicate effectively in spoken and written form as well as through electronic media with the academic and student community as well as society at large. Demonstrate the ability to write dissertations, reports, make effective presentations and documentation. 

PO 8:Environment and Society: Analyze the impact of politics of local, national and international levels on the environment and society and find out the solutions for sustainable development.  9. PO9:Ethics: Commitment to professional ethics and other academic responsibilities.

Upon completion of the M. Phil. programme, the students will able to  :

PSO 1:  Gain the theoretical and practical knowledge to do research in the different fields of Political Science and to further pursue a career in research through Ph. D. and other R & D programs. 

PSO 2: Learn to survey literature, earmark research gaps, hypothesize research problems, and design research objectives.

PSO 3:  Use advanced techniques for the collection and analysis of data.

PSO 4:  Acquire skills to review literature, formulate research problems and write a report.

Upon completion of the Ph. D. programme, the students will be able to :

PSO 1: Develop a substantive knowledge base in their area of specialisation.

PSO 2: Master the analytical and methodological skills required to evaluate and conduct research independently.

PSO 3: Identify and appropriately apply a range of methods used by political scientists. 

PSO 4: Demonstrate the ability to communicate the results of their research in a clear and effective manner.

PSO 5: Demonstrate an understanding and concern for high ethical standards in research and teaching.

PSO 7: Demonstrate the ability to teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in their area of specialisation

PSO 8: Acquire essential skills to pursue research as a career in various research institutions and universities.
