Department of Library and Information Science, JU organizes Extension Lecture on "Harnessing AI for Personalized Learning: Tools & Techniques"

The Department of Library and Information Science , University of Jammu, successfully organized  an Extension  Lecture on "Harnessing AI for Personalized Learning: Tools& Techniques" .The lecture was delivered by Professor Dinesh Kumar Gupta, Former Chairperson ,Department of Library & Information Science, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana. Prof .Dinesh K.Gupta specializes in ICT Application in Library and Information Science, Knowledge Organization, Classification, and Crowd Sourcing. Prof.Gupta shared his valuable insights and expertise with the participants .The lecture was very informative and insightful based on Artificial Intelligence tools and techniques. The key aspects of lecture highlighted about various AI tools like Alexa –Smart Home Control Panel, Voice assistant for cars, Google Docs, Voice Google Docs, Voice Assistants around us, Sci hub-a tool to download any research paper from journals, role of semantic scholar for automated literature review and analysis tools, QuillBot, AI Writing and Grammer Checker-Gammerly ,Yoodli free communication coach, voice typing techniques on MS-WORD by pressing windows +H keys. The entire session of the lecture was very insightful as the speaker demonstrated the use of AI tools in research in a real time mode.

At the very out- set Dr.Meghna Dhar, Incharge Head of the Department of Library and Information Science, University of Jammu, welcomed the guest speaker and all the participants. The lecture was attended by Faculty Members Dr. Pramod.Kumar Singh, Mr Ashwin Kumar Kushwaha, Dr.Bindu Sharma and Dr. Reenu Arti Thakur, Research Scholars and Students of Department of Library and Information Science, University of Jammu. The extension lecture ended with a formal vote of thanks by Dr.Meghna Dhar. More than 50 participants participated in the lecture. The session was very well-received by the participants.
