Dean Student Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu, in collaboration with the Department of Lifelong Learning, University of Jammu organized a one-day workshop on communication skills to celebrate Youth Skill Day on 19th of July 2024. The event aimed to enhance the communication skills of youth particularly NSS volunteers from the constituent colleges of the Cluster University of Jammu.
The programme began with an inaugural address by Dr. Rajashree Dhar, Dean Students Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu emphasising the significance of communication skills for youth empowerment and career development.
Prof. (Dr)B.B Anand, Principal of MAM College, addressed the audience, sharing insights on the practical applications of strong communication abilities in various fields and stressed being skilful in the present scenario.
The resource person of the workshop was Ms. Neetu Dhar the corporate master trainer, who conducted an engaging and informative session on interpersonal skills and non-verbal communication for the participants. She also conducted an assessment test based on the topic. The workshop was held under the guidance of Prof. Jeevan Jyoti, Incharge Director, Department of Lifelong Learning, University of Jammu.
Amitpal Kour, NSS Coordinator CLUJ also apprised the students about the importance of honing their communication skills to meet the challenges of the modern world. Prof. Sugandha skillfully conducted the proceedings of the programme.
Dr Rewa Khajuria, Counsellor, Department of Lifelong Learning, University of Jammu coordinated the workshop. About 40 students from constituent colleges of the cluster university of Jammu participated in the workshop.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Prof. Lukesha, NSS PO, MAM College expressing gratitude to all the speakers and participants for their valuable contributions. Other faculty members present on the occasion were Dr. Rahul Kait, Dr. Deepshikha Sharma, Dr. Neha Sharma, Prof. Sarita Dogra, and Dr. Kailash Sharma NSS Program Officers, from various constituent colleges of Cluster University of Jammu.
