Employment Information cum Advisory Bureau, the Career Counselling Cell of Department of Lifelong Learning. University of Jammu organised one day workshop on “Career Planning after Graduation.” in collaboration with Govt. Degree College, Purmandal.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Jeevan Jyoti, Director, Department of Lifelong Learning, University of Jammu. The special resource persons were Dr. Shallu Sehgal, Sr. Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, University of Jammu; Dr. Neetu Dhar, Chief Co-ordinator and Master Trainer, JKDCUL and Dr. Rewa Khajuria, Counsellor, EIAB, DLL, JU.

In her welcoming address, Prof. Rajshree Dhar, Principal of the college highlighted the importance and necessity of such programmes for the students. She appreciated the role of Career Counselling Cell in organising career awareness programmes. She stressed upon students to take benefits of such activities which can shape their career and lead them to a path of success.

Dr. Shallu Sehgal, in her presentation, apprised the students about self-employment opportunities under New India Regime and characteristics and benefits of self-employed. She also explained in detail various government schemes available for the students and advised them to keep working hard till the goal is achieved. Dr. Neetu Dhar in her presentation, explained to the students the contributors to personality and the way forward. She also gave insight of the factors that boost the confidence in choosing the right path. Dr. Rewa Khajuria, Counsellor, EIAB, DLL, JU highlighted the importance of career counselling to the students and motivated them to join these programmes.

Prof. Shahima Akhtar, Convenor, Career Counselling Cell of the College in her address, appraised the students about various activities being conducted by the Career Counselling Cell of GDC, Purmandal. She also advised the students to take part in such programmes which can help them choose the right career.

The faculty members of the college along with 53 students attended the programme. The whole programme was conducted by Prof. Shahima Akhtar. She also presented the final vote of thanks.
