University Institute of Engineering and Technology, University of Jammu in collaboration with Institution Innovation Council, University of Jammu has organized a webinar on ‘You have Wings….Just Learn to Fly’ wherein more than 250 participants were registered from various colleges and universities. Kamal K. Sharma, Founder Director, SaveFirst Investinsure Services Pvt. Ltd. was the resource person Sharma is a successful entrepreneur, passionate motivational speaker and has to his credit 24 years of rich experience. Moreover, he is a visiting faculty of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Institute, Mumbai and a frequent speaker of financial discussions at All India Radio, Jammu. Recently,. Sharma has published a book on the title ‘The Piggy Bank Billionaire’ that is a financial guide to help individuals understand their financial goals in a most prudent manner and plan them with utmost seriousness.

While speaking on the topic, Sharma stressed upon the rising need of entrepreneurs in present scenario and discussed in detail the characteristics of a successful entrepreneur. He talked in detail regarding startups and suggested the students to bring forward innovative ideas. He emphatically draws attention towards Government's step in supporting StartUps as the Budget 2022 included exemption of tax for StartUps for another one year. He motivated students by quoting number of examples of entrepreneurs who have build from the scratch. He said the innovative minds have magnificent possibilities in India. He also focused on the need of creating smart goal settings in life and keep a track of fixed goals every 6 months. He pondered over the idea of power within each of us that propels us in the direction of our current dominant thoughts.

Professor Susheel Kumar Sharma, Coordinator, UIET and President, IIC, University of Jammu expressed his gratitude towards the resource person for his great endeavours in providing awareness to the students. He emphasized the importance of such webinars for the upliftment of the students, especially during the present pandemic scenario.  He also lauded the efforts of the members of IIC, University of Jammu and UIET faculty for organizing the activity. Further, he assured that more such activities shall be undertaken in near future to promote innovation in the University Campus and to consolidate the collaboration between Academia and Industry.
