Events

The various activities are organized by the Department in the form of guest lectures by eminent academicians from other Institutes/Universities. 

• A lecture on “Cyber Crime” was delivered by Mr. Yaseen Kichloo, SSP Cyber Crime Institute for Excellence, Jammu, on September 17, 2024 at 03:00 pm, organized by the Department of Chemistry, University of Jammu, Jammu.
• A lecture on “Gender Sensitization” was delivered by Prof. Savita Nayar, Director, Centre for Women Studies, Department of Law, University of Jammu, on September 17, 2024 at 02:00 pm, organized by the Department of Chemistry, University of Jammu, Jammu.
• A lecture was delivered by Dr. Anukul Jana, Associate Professor, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research Hyderabad, on May 28, 2024 at 03:00 pm in the Seminar Hall of New Laboratory Complex, Department of Chemistry, University of Jammu, Jammu.
• A 2-Week Refresher Course in Chemistry (ONLINE) organized by the Malaviya Mission Teacher Centre (formerly HRDC), University of Jammu in collaboration with Department of Chemistry, University of Jammu, Jammu w.e.f. 19 February – 02 March, 2024. The resource persons were drawn from various Universities/Institutes.
• A 2-Week Refresher Course in Chemistry (ONLINE) organized by the HRDC, University of Jammu in collaboration with Department of Chemistry, University of Jammu, Jammu w.e.f. 30 January – 11 February, 2023. The resource persons were drawn from various Universities/Institutes.
• A seminar-cum-interaction session was presented by Dr. Tokeer Ahmed, Department of Chemistry, JMI Delhi, on June 27, 2023 at 11:30 am in the Department of Chemistry, University of Jammu, Jammu.
• A seminar-cum-interaction session was presented by Prof. D.D. Pathak, Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, Jharkhand, on June 06, 2023 at 01:30 pm in the Department of Chemistry, University of Jammu, Jammu.
• A seminar-cum-interaction session was presented by Dr. Deepika Singh, Sr. Principal Scientist & Head Quality Control, CSIR-IIIM Jammu, on February 23, 2023 at 01:30 pm in the Department of Chemistry, University of Jammu, Jammu.
• A seminar-cum-interaction session was presented by Dr. Rajkishor Rai, Senior Scientist, CSIR-IIIM Jammu, on October 19, 2022 at 04:30 pm in the Department of Chemistry, University of Jammu, Jammu.
• A lecture was delivered by Prof. Akhila K. Sahoo, School of Chemistry, University of Hyderabad, on September 07, 2022 at 03:30 pm in the Seminar Hall of New Laboratory Complex, Department of Chemistry, University of Jammu, Jammu.
• A seminar-cum-interaction session was presented by Dr. Rajkishor Rai, Senior Scientist, CSIR-IIIM Jammu, on April 27, 2022 at 03:30 pm in the Department of Chemistry, University of Jammu, Jammu.
• A seminar-cum-interaction session was presented by Dr. Rajkishor Rai, Senior Scientist, CSIR-IIIM Jammu, on January 12, 2022 at 12:30 pm in the Department of Chemistry, University of Jammu, Jammu.
• A seminar-cum-interaction session was presented by Dr. Rajesh Kumar Thapar, Director, Racemix Laboratories and Brown Laboratories Ltd., Gurugram, on November 09, 2021 at 09:30 am in the Department of Chemistry, University of Jammu, Jammu.
• A lecture was delivered by Dr. Abhay SD Rajput, Scientist-D Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM) (Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India) Dr. Homi Bhabha Road, Pashan, Pune, INDIA, on October 21, 2021 at 11:00 am in the Seminar Hall of the New Laboratory Complex, Department of Chemistry, University of Jammu, Jammu.
• A 2-Week Refresher Course in Chemistry (ONLINE) organized by the HRDC, University of Jammu in collaboration with Department of Chemistry, University of Jammu, Jammu w.e.f. 03 March – 16 March, 2021. The resource persons were drawn from various Universities/Institutes.
• A five days workshop on curriculum reforms was held in the Department from 10.05.2019 to 14.05.2019 wherein the elaborate discussion to improve the syllabus was discussed. Nine eminent academicians drawn from various institutes/universities and one from industry took part in the discussions.
• A guest lecture under the aegis of Chemical Society of PG Department of Chemistry, University of Jammu was organized as a part of celebrations of Golden Jubilee Year of the University (2019) and also 150th Year of discovery of the Periodic Table. The eminent personalities Prof. S. Chandersekaran (Indian National science Academy, Distinguished Professor) of Indian Institute of Sciences, Bengaluru and Prof. Brindaban C. Ranu (Indian Association of Cultivation of Science) Jadavpur, Kolkata were invited to deliver the talk.
• A refresher course for University and College faculty members was organized by the Department in collaboration with Human Recource Development Centre, Univesrity of Jammu, Jammu in December 2018. The resource persons were drawn from various Universities/Institutes.
