Special lecture on "Science in Sanskrit Literature" organised at JU

The P.G. Department of Sanskrit, University of Jammu  organized a Special lecture under Innovative Programme in the Phonetic lab of the Department. Prof. Daya Shankar tiwary, Department of Sanskrit, university of Delhi has delivered the lecture on the topic:- “Science in Sanskrit literature”.

In his special lecture Prof. Tiwary said that Sanskrit is the richest language among all the languages. 1455He has focused his lecture on many Shashtras like Physics, Astronomy, Botany, Chemistry, Zoology Vedanga Jyotish and Mathematics. He declared that main sources of all sciences are on depend on the Sanskrit literature and when we talk about the medical science, the main sources are charakasamhita and sushruta samhita. Prithivi sukta of the Arthaveda is the main sources of the botany and environment science. He has counted many references of the sciences found in the Sanskrit literature. Prof. Sucheta Pathania, Dean faculty of Arts and Prof. Ram Bahadur head of the department has welcomed him with garlanding and presenting memento. The vote of thanks has been given by Prof. Sushma devi, former Head Department of Sanskrit, University of Jammu. All the faculty members and research scholars and ex. Scholars of the department, faculty members of Buddhist studies, computer science and life long learning, scholar of Dogri, computer Science and, Mathematics and faculty member of degree colleges have attended the innovative programme. 30 members has attended the said event. The event has been chaired by the Dean faculty of Arts University of Jammu Prof. Sucheta pathania.
