An interaction session for the Faculty of Life Sciences was held in the Botanical Garden of the Department of Botany, University of Jammu, to celebrate the University’s remarkable achievement of securing an A++ grade and to acknowledge the contributions of its faculty members. The Chief Guest for the event was Prof. Neelu Rohmetra, Dean Research Studies, University of Jammu. The program commenced with a formal welcome of the Chief Guest, marked by the presentation of a floral basket and a memento. Prof. Yash Pal Sharma, Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences, extended a warm welcome through a formal address and introduced the faculty members present at the event. Dr. Susheel Verma, Professor and Head, Department of Botany elaborated upon the organisation of Botanical Garden, the research facilities available in the garden and the societal significance of the garden. During the session, Prof. Rohmetra commended the faculty for their pivotal role in the University's research and development, which contributed to the attainment of the A++ grade. She highlighted several initiatives undertaken by the Office of the Dean of Research Studies and urged faculty members to collaborate on joint projects that focus on societal betterment and directly benefit the community. Prof. Rohmetra assured full support of the DRS office to the faculty in addressing any challenges. She emphasized the importance of regular interactions to share research insights and to strategize for the University’s growth and its positive impact on society. The faculty of life sciences expressed the deepest gratitude towards the honorable Vice Chancellor, Prof. Umesh Rai for his patronage and support to all the endeavours of the faculty. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Namrata Sharma. The event was attended by the Heads of Departments and faculty members of all departments of the Faculty of Life Sciences.
