Surbhi Nursery School and Day Care Centre, Department of Home Science JU celebrated 75th Republic Day with great zeal and exhilaration. All the budding stars were geared up with patriotic fervor. The cultural celebrations, included, dance, music and talks by the students.
Commemorating our brave leaders who gave their lives to free our great nation, a Show and Tell presentation was organized on the occasion wherein the children came prepared with the famous slogans associated with our freedom fighters. Sanvi dressed up like ‘Rani Lakshmi Bai’, Ayansh Mahajan attired like ‘Bhagat Singh’, Bhavika Sharma as ‘Subhash Chandra Bose’ and Sehaj Kour as ‘Bharat Mata’. A scintillating dance performance was presented by Bhavika Sharma And Sanvi. Later the Master students of the Department of Home Science showcased their performances with the budding stars on medley of patriotic songs. Listening to and singing patriotic songs, triggered in the children and all the spectators alike, many emotions; pride, love and respect for the country. The celebrations culminated with the National Anthem.
Prof. Samridhi Arora, Head, Department of Home Science congratulated all on the eve of Republic day and commended the combined efforts of the little ones and teachers for presenting the wonderful show and she opined that the children of nursery school are very fortunate to have such kind of healthy interactions with the master students and other staff members of the Department of Home Science.
The faculty members from the Department of Home Science, JU also graced the occasion and prominent among them were Prof. Neeru Sharma, Prof Sarika Manhas, Dr. Charu Mohan, Ms Anu Choudhary and Dr. Priyanka Sharma. The activities were conducted under the supervision of Ms. Mamta Singh (Sr Teacher), Ms. Pooja Saraf, Ms. Seema Sharma and helpers Ms. Neelam Devi, Ms, Anu Devi, Ms. Suman
The Programme was attended by students, scholars and non-teaching staff of the Department.
