To make India a developed nation by 2047, the 100th year of independence, an interactive session on “Viksit Bharat@ 2047” was organized by The Business School, University of Jammu. Prof. Vinay Chauhan, Director, The Business School, University of Jammu presented a formal welcome address and gave insights on the essence of brainstorm sessions to make Viskit Bharat 2047 agenda a reality.
The eminent speakers for the session were Dr. Tilak Raj, Medical Superintendent, ESIC Model Hospital; Dr. Sanjeev Gupta, HOD Orthopaedics, GMC Jammu; Mr. Arvind Jasrotia from Infosys, Er. Anik Gupta, Director, Centre for IT, University of Jammu, IT; Dr. Payal Gupta, MBBS, ESIC Model Hospital; Harkreet Kour, from Military Engineer Services, Parul Khatri From TCS, Mr. Nipun from Mahindra and Mahindra.
Dr. Tilak Raj shared his experiences from his childhood. He worked as regimental doctor, as captain rank. While interacting with the students, he advised them to be mentally strong, face the challenges, develop skills, work hard, be a better citizen of country and provide your best to the society. To convert the country into Viksit Bharat, one has to avoid the things which lead to destruction like drugs, alcoholism etc.
Dr. Sanjeev Gupta expressed his views about Viksit Bharat @ 2047. Dr. Sanjeev discussed about the appointment and online services provided to patients, importance of the Ayushman Bharat Card (Health Insurance) and how it is helping the poor and middle class. He talked about the latest technologies in medical science i.e., robotics surgery, 3-D printing, digitalisation of medical reports, Day care surgery etc, which will lead the country towards Viksit Bharat.
Mr. Arvind Jasrotia, talked about sustainable development linking it with Viksit Bharat, He expressed his views about “manufacturing” and its importance. “Ask not what country is doing for you; ask what you are doing for the country”. He stressed upon four major topics of Viksit Bharat i.e., Economy, Socially, Sustainability and Entrepreneurship. Later, Er. Anik Gupta addressed the students and made aware about the sustainable development. The session ended with question answer round followed by vote of thanks.
Prof. Vinay Chauhan concluded the session, thanking the speakers and audience for making the program a grand success. His remarks highlighted the relevance of such sessions in the holistic development of the students. He also urged the students of The Business School to take maximum advantage of such opportunities which emanate from within as well as outside university system.
The proceedings of the session were conducted by Dr Aubid Hussain Parrey, Assistant Professor, The Business School. The session was attended by students, scholars and the faculty members. Among others present were Dr Amisha Gupta, Dr Komal Nagar, Dr Rachna Mahajan, Dr Rajni, Dr Garima, Dr Saloni, the faculty members of The Business School.
