JU Research Scholar won the Young Sedimentologist Award

Shifali Chib, a Research Scholar working under the supervision of Dr.Yudhbir Singh in the Department of Geology, University of Jammu, has been awarded the I.A.S. Young Sedimentologist Award (YSA) for the year 2023. The YSA is awarded to an outstanding young researcher for best paper presentation among the selected research papers. The research papers submitted by young researchers are evaluated by an expert committee and selected papers are considered for the award after presentation and defence by the selected young researchers. The award was presented during an international conference and 39th Convention of the Indian Association of Sedimentologists recently held at Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu. Prof S. K. Pandita has also won this award in 1995 when he was a research scholar in the Geology Department.
