The cadets of NCC Cadet Corps, Senior Wing of University of Jammu attended 12 Day EK BHARAT SHRESHTH CAMP AT DELHI. The basic objective of the camp reads as “through structured engagement on reciprocal basis, is to foster the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat and solidarity amongst NCC Cadets by providing them with the opportunity of community living and working with the cadets of other states.
The scope of the camp was to:
· Create awareness regarding diverse cultural heritage of our country highlighting the various aspects of unity in diversity.
· To instill greater emotional integration and mutual understanding amongst the young NCC cadets of different states of the country.
· To interact with the local populace.
· To experience the geography, topography, and cultural heritage of the region.
The camp was organised by NCC Training Area-NCC Delhi DTE TRG Area, Rohini and the various components of the training programme were: Cultural Competition, Sports Competition, Line Area Competition and Flag Area Competition.
Experience Sharing by the cadets:
Experience I:The cadet shared that visit to different sites of national historical importance allowed them to reinvigorate the spirit of nationalism and connectedness with the idea of EK BHARAT SHRESHTH BHARAT. She also narrated that being in camp with cadets of other states enabled cadets to create cross cultural teams that made them learn the importance of tolerance and coexistence.
Experience II:The cadet shared that the different activities that they underwent at Delhi Camp helped them to connect with communities in need and learned the strategies to immerse in community development (story telling and opinion building).
The underlying motive forpromoting cadets for such like camps was to inculcate amongst the young citizens of the region, specifically female cadets from the University of Jammu, the essence of character, comradeship, discipline, secular outlook, the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service.
The EK BHARAT SHRESHTH BHARAT NEW DEHI Camp- was coordinated by Dr. Isha Sharma, Associate NCC Officer of NCC Wing, University of Jammu under the guidance of 2 J&K, Girls Battalion.
