The Two Days National Conference on "Current Scenario & Future Prospects of Sericulture (CS&FPS)-2023" reached its successful conclusion at JU's Poonch Campus. The event, dedicated to exploring the evolving landscape of sericulture, featured distinguished guests and insightful discussions.
The Esteemed Chief Guest, Er. Mr Mohd Ashfaq Vice Chairman of District Development Council Poonch, delivered a thought-provoking address, setting the tone for the conference's closing proceedings.
Prof. Rakesh Vaid, Director and Convener of the Conference, shared valuable perspectives on the occasion, emphasizing the significance of advancements in sericulture. “The conference, hosted by Poonch Campus, served as a dynamic platform for the exchange of ideas, insights, and innovations within the realm of sericulture,” he said adding further that participants, including researchers, academicians, industry professionals, and enthusiasts, actively engaged in discussions that are expected to contribute significantly to the advancement of sericulture practices.
Dr. Farooq Baqual, Guest of Honour and I/C/Associate Dean, TSRI Mirgund, SKUAST-K, enriched the event with expert insights into the current challenges and future opportunities in the field of sericulture. He provided a comprehensive understanding of the industry's landscape, emphasizing key areas for growth and development.
Vishal Deep Chandan District Information Office Poonch, emphasized the significance of such conferences in promoting awareness and collaboration. He applauded the efforts of the organizers and participants for contributing to the growth of the sericulture sector and its impact on local communities.
Special Guest Prof. Musaraf Hussain Shah, Principal GDC - Darhal, added academic depth to the occasion with a notable address. His address added a significant layer of expertise to the event, offering attendees a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the field of sericulture.
In a powerful address during the valedictory function, Station Director All India Radio Poonch Ghulam Nabi Mir commended the conference for fostering a platform that brings together experts, practitioners, and enthusiasts in the field of sericulture. He highlighted the vital role of information dissemination through platforms like AIR in promoting knowledge exchange and advancements in sericulture.
Dr. Rubia Bukhari, Campus Officer, and Organising Secretary presented a comprehensive conference report, summarizing the key highlights and contributions made by the participants. Dr Bukhari thanked Sponsor Jammu and Kashmir Bank for their crucial financial support in ensuring the success of the conference.
