To acquaint the newly inducted students with the academic culture and curriculum of the institution, Reasi Campus, Jammu University, organized an induction programme on 25 01 2023 for the first semester students of MDP Sociology for the session 2022-223. Prof S. K Pandey, Director, Reasi Campus, Jammu University, was the chief guest on the occasion. Prof. Pandey has welcomed the new entrants on behalf of the campus and informed them about various aspects of the university of Jammu as well as the Reasi campus. He assured them to provide best facility in the Reasi Campus in terms of teaching and learning process. He also emphasized to the students to take active participation in the co-curricular and extra-curricular activities in addition to excellence in curricular learning as blend of both hard and soft skill are the main contributor for overall success in their future endeavor. He said that this place is no just about education and training but also about building a personality, an attitude, a character and a versatile person. He urged to the students to be enthusiastic and participative in every event to come in addition to an excellent performance in their academic.
Dr. Nisha Sharma gave a presentation about SWAYAM (MOOCs) courses wherein she mentioned that online course using the SWAYAM platform is mandatory as per UGC norms for completing the MDP course is now mandatory at PG and UG level. She also said the basic philosophy of MOOCs on SWAYAM is learning for all, anytime, anywhere (AAA) and stated that the MOOCS on SWAYAM follow a fourquadrant approach. Mr. Manoj Kumar has briefed the students about the history of the Reasi campus since its inception as well as glimpse of activities held in the campus during the past years. Ms. Diksha Bharti has highlighted key points about the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) pattern which is recently implemented in the Reasi Campus. Mr. Ravi Kumar introduced the students about the best practices adopted by the campus like mentor mentee, weekly seminar by the faculty and students, Director's tea etc.
All students were provided a study kit on this occasion. Prof S. K. Pandey has appreciated the efforts of the faculty members, non-teaching staff and the students for making the event successful. The programme was concluded with the vote of thanks by Ms Namita Ganjoo, student of 3rd semester.
