  • Presently, the thrust areas where research is undertaken in the department are Sample Survey, Reliability Theory, Information Theory, Biostatistics and Statistical inference.
  • The students undergoing Master’s, M.Phil. & Ph.D. in Statistics have a bright future with a lot of employment opportunities available in public sectors like Planning, Administration, Banking, Data Scientists Information Technology, Teaching and Research and in private sectors like quality control, Actuarial Sciences, and Management etc.
  • The department has been marching ahead in the direction of excellence in teaching and research and is committed to keep its march towards this end.
