National Education Day was today celebrated by the Institute of Music and Fine Arts, University of Jammu with great enthusiasm and zeal.  The function was presided over BY Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik, principal Institute of Music and Fine Arts. Various speakers highlighted the importance of National Education Day. They also highlighted the contribution of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad the 1st Education Minister of India in the field of Education, Politics, and Literature.

While speaking on the occasion Rakesh Sharma, H.O.D Applied Arts paid tributes to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. He described him not only as a freedom fighter but also a Great educationist who reform the higher education set up in India.

Dr. Priya Dutta HOD Music said that it was Maulana Abul Kalam Azad who established UGC for the development of Higher Education. He was a secular man from the core of his heart.

Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik, Principal Institute of Music and Fine Arts in his address paid glowing tributes to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. He said that Maulana Abul Kalam Azad struggled a lot for the independence of India.  He was put into jail several times by the British Rulers. He was a brave statesman who did not compromise with British Rulers. Prof. Shohab further added that Mulana Abul Kalam Azad was the tallest Muslim leader during the partition who preferred to live in India. This shows the love of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad towards his motherland. Maulana Abul Kalam Azad was also an Urdu writer par excellence who authored several books in Urdu. He was a towering Urdu Journalist also. His contribution in the field of Journalism,  literature, Education can't be forgotten added, Prof. Malik.          

            The program was conducted by Sujata Rajput while Deepali Watal presented a vote of thanks. Who present on the occasion included S.K. Raina, Suraj Singh, Bhadur Singh, Dr. Milan Sharma, Ankush Kumar, and others.
