ACB P/S Central Jammu organized a workshop at the Brig. Rajinder Singh, auditorium, Jammu University to commemorate the Vigilance Awareness Week 2021. Prof. Rajini Dhingra, Dean Research Studies, Registrar Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Dean Students Welfare Prof. Parkash C. Anthal, Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee, Prof. Vishav Raksha, Assistant Dean SW, Dr. Garima Gupta alongwith other faculty members of University of Jammu and officers / officials of the University also attended the workshop organized by ACB.
SP Abhisheik Sharma gave a brief introduction about the Anti-Corruption Bureau and talked about the corrupt practices adopted by the Government Officials and Prevention of Corruption Act 1988. SP S. Balasubramony gave a presentation on the topic of corruption, Aims of Anti-Corruption Bureau, expectations from the elite of the university and aware the participants about the impact of the corruption and also advised them to not to be a part of the corrupt system.
In her address, Prof. Rajini Dhingra asserted the importance of the workshop and expressed that such workshops play a major role in public awareness and invited ACB to conduct more such programmes in the university to create more awareness about this topic of great importance. Prof. Prakash Antahal while welcoming the guests informed that now that the Anti-Corruption Act of 1988, like many other Central Laws has been extended to J&K after August 5, 2019 and there is perceptible change in approach to tackle the menace of corruption in public life, one can hope that things would change and the common man would feel the change in near future.
Prof. Vishav Raksha presented the vote of thanks. The participants attended the workshop with great zeal and enthusiasm. In the last a brief questioning/interaction session was also held where the questions of participants/audience were answered by the officers of ACB. The event was conducted by Ifra Kak and coordinated by Mansi Mantoo and Sumeet Sharma. Kulbhushan Thakur and Arif Paul looked after the sound and projections.
