International Centre for Cross Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR & HRM), University of Jammu (JU) organised the week-long induction programme to embark the beginning of the newly admitted batch of MBA (International Business) students.

The objective of the week-long programme was to imbibe the international orientation in the students and to prepare them for the upcoming academic and corporate rigour that shall facilitate them to become future leaders.  The week long induction programme was designed in a holistic manner with speakers across different verticals that is corporate, academia, NGO’s and Incubation centres, thereby developing professionals with corporate acumen, entrepreneurial potential and social consciousness. The week long deliberations provided an opportunity to the students to interact and network with mentors from industry and academia of both national and international repute.

Mr. Ruchir Sonkar, Assistant General Manager, Reserve Bank of India at Induction Programme deliberated upon the intricacies of International Financial Markets and Currency Management. He also stressed upon the adoption of Digital Currencies across globe the associated challenges. He led students to navigate across the different verticals of financial markets: Capital Markets, Currency Markets, National and International Stock Exchanges, SDR’s and Portfolio Management.

Ms. Manjula Sularia, CEO: Transformers Value Creation spoke about Building Youth through engagement with community and outreach exercises. She embarked upon her journey of volunteerism and the need for the younger generation to adopt voluntary societal engagement for bringing the change in the mindsets of students in particular and society at large that will create a. equitable society with high moral consciousness.

Mr. Debashish Ghosh, Vice President & Country Head, Berkadia India in his discourse elaborated upon the importance of building leadership skills, wherein he presented a contrasting perspective of Fixed vs Growth mindset and motivated students to practice growth mindset for developing traits and behaviours that significantly develop the leadership competencies required by industry at large.

Madhuri Pal, Innovation Practitioner, Atal Innovation Mission, Niti Aayog, Govt. of India as a resource person elaborated upon the need for developing Culture of Innovation, wherein academia should emphasize to create and promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship by developing  new programmes and policies for fostering innovation across different sectors of the economy and provide platforms and collaboration opportunities for different stakeholders so that an umbrella structure to oversee the innovation & entrepreneurship ecosystem of the country can be created.

Professor Neetu Andotra, Director, ICccR & HRM, University of Jammu during her remarks, highlighted the significance of international business management in today’s globalised economy.  She expressed satisfaction for the conduct of Induction Programme with speakers and resource person from different specialisations and expertise, thereby making programme an inclusive platform for students to develop their competencies and envision the future ahead.

The Induction Programme was attended by Dr. Pallvi Arora, faculty at ICccR & HRM, the students of MBA (International Business) and research scholars at ICccR & HRM, University of Jammu.
