2. PGFMT002 Master of Technology programme in Computer Science- M.Tech. (Computer Science).

The Department is also running Two years (Four Semester) M.Tech. Programme in Computer Science from the session 2014-15. This programme has been revised under the Choice Based Credit System of UGC guidelines and also as per the Suggestions made by the experts following the Course Curriculum Reforms of RUSA 2.0 during the course curriculum workshop held in 2019. This program has the intake capacity of 20 students. In addition, there are 5 self-supporting seats. The admission to this course is strictly based on the valid score obtained in GATE or through written entrance test conducted by the Department.

[However, M.Tech. (CS) programme is not covered under JUET. The Admission to M.Tech. (CS) is notified separately by the department.]

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The candidates applying for admission to M. Tech. (Computer Science) programme must be either

i) B.E/B.Tech (Computer Science/IT/Electrical Engineering/ECE) with 60% of the marks or equivalent CGPA.
ii) MCA/M.Sc (Computer Science/IT/Electronics/Mathematics/Statistics/Physics) with60% of the marks or equivalent CGPA.

  • With 5% relaxation to candidates belonging to category Schedule Caste (SC) and Schedule Tribe (ST)

 

3. PGFMC001 Master of Computer Applications (MCA).

Eligibility Criteria:
A candidate seeking admission to MCA programme must have passed/appeared in the final year of BCA/B.Sc.(Computer Science) or any stream/discipline having passed Mathematics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level with at least 50% of the aggregate marks (45% for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes)

However, Candidates who has not studied computer science subjects at UG level and/or has not passed mathematics paper at 10+2 level, is also eligible to apply. Such candidates need to enroll and compulsorily pass the bridge course-PSCATB100 of four credits in addition to the passing regular semester 1 courses given in the syllabus during semester-1, in order to get eligible for admission to Semester-III of MCA-2 years programme. This course will be of qualifying nature only, needs to be completed and passed in first year of MCA to become eligible for subsequent Semester-III, and will not be included in the total credits earned by the student against MCA final degree. The bridge course exam will be conducted twice a year.
