“One - Week Induction and Personality Development Programme” for the students of MBA (IB) concludes at International Centre for Cross Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR & HRM), University of Jammu. The induction and personality development programme focused on the holistic development of the students with sessions on self-awareness, personality profiling, goal-setting, ice-breaking sessions, stress management, career planning, and resume building.
Prof. Alka Sharma, Dean Business Studies (DBS), University of Jammu, was the Chief Guest in the inaugural function of the Induction and Personality Development Programme. Prof. Alka Shrama in her address, briefed the students about the importance of management and inculcating it as a way of life. She emphasized the need for incorporating IT skills, communication skills, data analytical skills, problem solving and critical thinking for holistic development of the students.
During the session, Prof. B.K. Bajaj, Dean Student Placement, University of Jammu shared valuable advice and strategies on navigating the job market, crafting compelling resumes, and acing interviews. The Dean’s extensive experience in career placement and industry connections provided participants with practical knowledge and actionable steps to enhance their job search efforts.
The programme featured a compelling session on Gender Sensitization led by Prof. Savita Nayyar, Director, Centre for Women Studies and Professor, Department of Law, University of Jammu. With her extensive knowledge and experience, Prof. Nayyar provided attendees with valuable insights into the complexities of gender issues and the importance of fostering an inclusive environment.
The personality development programme, led by Dr. S. K. Goel, Founder and Director Personality Gurukul and Miss Oshin Goel, Director, Vibrant Dots focused on equipping attendees with essential skills for personal growth and professional success. The session provided valuable insights into effective communication, developing positive attitude, building self-confidence, leadership qualities, time management, stress management and Inter-personal relationship. Participants were engaged in interactive activities, role-playing exercises, and group discussions, which facilitated a hands-on learning experience.
Professor Hardeep Chahal, Director, ICccR & HRM, University of Jammu during her remarks, she expressed satisfaction for the conduct of Induction Programme with speakers and resource person from different specializations and expertise, thereby making programme an inclusive platform for students to develop their competencies and envision the future ahead. Her deliberations revolved around developing students as professionals with strong personality and positive attitude. She assured students that in coming academic sessions, concrete opportunities in terms of resource persons, industry-academia interfaces and corporate centric training and development will be imparted for holistic professional development.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Isha Sharma, Dr. Swati Sharma and Dr. Shivani Rana. The event was co-coordinated by Dr. Bhanu Pratap Singh, Dr. Neha Gupta and Dr. Parul Mahajan. The programme was attended by students from MBA (IB) Semester I, Semester III and Research Scholars of the department.
