One-week Faculty Development Program on "Integrative Research Methods: Qualitative & Meta-Analysis and Experimental Methods" being organised by P.G. Department of Commerce in collaboration with SIIEDC, University of Jammu commenced today at University of Jammu. The program scheduled from 22nd to 26th July 2024, aims at enhancing the research capabilities of faculty members across various disciplines. Prof. Tejinder Pal Singh from University Business School, Panjab University is the resource person for the first two days. The inaugural session of the FDP focused on demystifying qualitative research, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of its fundamentals. During the other sessions of the day different aspects of Qualitative research were discussed in which emphasis was on qualitative designs, data collection tools and sampling in qualitative research. This program is designed to equip faculty members and scholars with cutting-edge research methodologies. By integrating qualitative, meta-analysis, and experimental methods, the event aims to foster a more holistic approach to research across our institution. The FDP has attracted faculty members and scholars from various departments of University and other institutions namely Commerce, The Business School, Home Science, GDC Udhampur and Cluster University of Jammu; thereby reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of modern research. Over the course of the week, attendees will engage in intensive sessions, and hands-on activities to master these essential research methodologies. Earlier in the day, the resource person was formally welcomed by Dr. Sunil Kumar, FDP coordinator. The program is set to continue over the next four days, covering a wide range of topics including structured literature review, meta-analysis techniques and experimental research methods. The organizers hope that this FDP will not only enhance the research skills of the participants but also lead to increased research output and quality from the institution.
