The resource person was Prof. R.P. Vadhera, former Pro-Vice Chancellor Mizoram University and Superannuated as Vice-Chancellor ICFAI University, India. The resource person highlighted that Bloom’s Taxonomy of educational objectives outlines a hierarchy of cognitive levels, ranging from basic knowledge to advanced evaluation. It has significant implications for curriculum development, teaching and evaluation. While discussing its importance, he highlighted that in curriculum development, Bloom’s Taxonomy guides the creation of well-structured content that progresses through these cognitive levels. Additionally, he stated that teaching and learning strategies should align with each level, promoting critical thinking and problem-solving. Evaluation methods must match the cognitive objectives, moving beyond rote memorization to assess higher-order thinking. In his concluding lines he expressed that overall, Bloom’s Taxonomy encourages a holistic approach to education, ensuring that students acquire not just knowledge but also the ability to apply, analyze, synthesize, and evaluate information.
