Jammu, September 15, 2026: International Centre for Cross Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR& HRM), University of Jammu, organized Expert Talk on: “Global Business Environment, Opportunities & Avenues: UK & India under the “ Go Global - Lecture Series”,  for the students of MBA (International Business) programme in the virtual mode.

 

Prof. Julie Davies, Professor of Healthcare Management and Leadership Development, and Head of Accreditations, Rankings and Reputation, Brunel Business School, Brunel University of London, UK was the resource person.

 

Professor Julie Davies talked about the India-UK trade relationship and outlined varied aspects of international business environment for fostering partnerships. She elaborated upon the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), UK, and threw light on the varied sectoral opportunities and the service corridors. Professor Davies also highlighted the India’s global strategic position across domains like that in IT and business services, engineering and manufacturing scale, pharmaceuticals, textiles and leather, and a large diasporas-linked entrepreneurial network. Central to her talk was the narrative- “People are the bridges”, that create Diaspora networks, student mobility, academic partnerships and professional mobility. “People can choose to enter in UK markets through exporting, licensing, joint ventures and wholly –owned subsidiary”, she said.

 

Professor Neelu Rohmetra, founding Director, ICccR & HRM, University of Jammu in her concluding remarks thanked Professor Julie Davies for bringing out the economic opportunities and the trade connection between India and UK. “Thinking about enterprises and entrepreneurship is essentially the need of the hour, and the Management graduates must explore international markets and Go Global”, she emphasized.
