University of Jammu’s Poonch Campus Organizes Programme on “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan”

POONCH, APRIL 27: Poonch Campus, University of Jammu organized a programme on “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan” in alignment with the vision of the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, to promote a drug-free society and raise awareness among youth and the general public.

The programme commenced with a pledge ceremony led by the Director of the Campus, Prof. Rakesh Vaid. In his address, he underscored the significance of the “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan” as a strong foundation for building a healthy, disciplined, and progressive society. He urged participants to understand the harmful effects of substance abuse and to take personal responsibility in preventing it.

Prof. Vaid also highlighted the University’s commitment to academic excellence alongside fostering social responsibility and moral values among students. He encouraged everyone to actively contribute towards creating a drug-free environment.

During the programme, students, faculty, and staff collectively took an oath to abstain from drug abuse and to work towards building a healthy and addiction-free society.

The pledge ceremony was followed by an awareness rally involving students, faculty, and staff members. The rally passed through nearby localities, with participants raising slogans and carrying placards to spread strong messages against drug abuse. The initiative aimed to sensitize the local community about the harmful effects of substance abuse and the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle.

The programme concluded with a renewed commitment from all participants to support the vision of a drug-free India and to actively engage in awareness and prevention initiatives.
