JU Organises Felicitation Ceremony Honouring J&K Judicial Services Achievers

JAMMU, MARCH 25: The Law School, University of Jammu today organised a prestigious felicitation ceremony to honour its alumni who have recently been selected as judicial officers. The event celebrated the achievements of Anshu Lal Sharma, Muskan Puri, Deeksha, Kritika Jain, Shazia Manzoor, Sahiba Banotra, Riju Gupta, and Aman Kumar, marking their successful transition from alumni to members of the judiciary.

 

The ceremony featured an interactive session wherein the newly appointed judicial officers, along with distinguished alumni guests, shared their professional journeys, offering valuable insights and inspiration to the students. The programme was presided over by Raj Kamal Arya, AFHQCS, Deputy Registrar, Armed Forces Tribunal and a noted alumnus of the Law School, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

 

In his address, the Chief Guest highlighted the importance of consistency, conviction, and dedication as the cornerstones of a successful legal career. He also paid a heartfelt tribute to educators, acknowledging the significant role played by his teachers in shaping his professional journey.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Rohmetra stated that the ceremony stands as a testament to the strong academic foundation laid by the institution. She expressed pride in the accomplishments of the alumni who continue to uphold the highest standards of the judiciary and appreciated the Chief Guest and Special Guest for reinforcing the core values of the legal profession.

 

Earlier, Advocate Deepak Gupta, who was the Special Guest on the occasion, encouraged the students to draw inspiration from the achievements of their predecessors and to steadfastly follow the path forged by the distinguished alumni of the department.

 

The event was coordinated by Dr. Shubha Vats, Convener of the Alumni Committee, under the guidance of Prof. Seema Rohmetra, Director, The Law School, University of Jammu.

 

The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks presented by Dr. Mrinalini Atrey, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty members, and student volunteers for making the event meaningful and inspiring for the aspiring legal professionals of the Law School.
