Kathua Campus, JU Organizes Educational Tour to Mansar Lake for Undergraduate Studentsof Department of English

 

 The Department of English, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu successfully conducted an educational tour to Mansar Lake near Samba on March 17, 2026, engaging a group of undergraduate students in an immersive exploration of the site's cultural, geographical, and ecological importance.

Mansar Lake, known for its serene beauty and historical importance, has been a site of great cultural and natural significance. "This hands-on experience bridged classroom learning with real-world applications, deepening students' appreciation for environmental science and cultural heritage," stated Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Rector, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu in his message to participants.

Accompanied by Dr. Pankaj Khajuria , Assistant Registrar, Dr. Nomita Sharma and Dr. Meenakshi Thakur, Faculty Members, Department of English, Kathua Campus,  the students gained invaluable insights into the Lake's serene environment, surrounding forests, and historical significance. The tour offered practical exposure to topics in environmental science, history, and cultural studies, including guided discussions on conservation efforts and the ecological role of lakes.

The initiative underscores the University's dedication to holistic education, integrating academic rigor with experiential learning.
