VC, JU RELEASES THE SELF LEARNING MATERIAL MANUAL OF CENTRE FOR DISTANCE & ONLINE EDUCATION

Jammu, Jan 12: The Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Umesh Rai, University of Jammu released the Self Learning Material (SLM) Manual of the Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), University of Jammu on January 12, 2026.

While releasing the manual, the Vice-Chancellor appreciated the efforts of the Centre for Distance and Online Education in bringing out this important academic document and emphasized its significance in strengthening learner-centric education and maintaining high standards in distance and online education programmes. He stated that the manual would serve as a valuable reference for faculty members and contributors involved in the preparation of self-learning materials.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Pankaj K. Srivastava, Director, CDOE, stated that the SLM Manual is a result of collective academic efforts aimed at institutionalizing best practices in self-learning material development. He highlighted that the manual would facilitate systematic content creation, ensure consistency across programmes and enhance the overall learning experience of students enrolled in distance and online modes. He further expressed gratitude to the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor for his guidance and support in promoting quality initiatives at CDOE.

The SLM Manual has been prepared under the convenership of Prof. Sandeep Kour Tandon, by a team comprising Dr. Nagendra Rao, Dr. Neelam Choudhary, Dr. Pragati Jasrotia, Dr. Himanshi Chandervanshi, and Mr. Satinder Singh, all from the Centre for Distance and Online Education, University of Jammu.

The release of the SLM Manual marks a significant step towards strengthening quality assurance mechanisms and reinforcing academic excellence in distance and online education at the University of Jammu.
