2^nd Day of ‘Inter Zonal Display Your Talent’ at JU

Jammu, Dec 17: On the 2^nd day of ‘Inter-Zonal Display Your Talent 2024-25’ being organized by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu, the events of Western Singing, Rangoli and Clay Modelling were conducted at University of Jammu. Dr. Neeraj Sharma (Registrar) Prof. Prakash C. Antahal (Dean Students Welfare), Prof. Monika Chadha (Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee), Prof. Sarika Manhas, (Co-Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee) and other dignitaries were present at the occasion.

The new format of Display Your Talent has been envisioned by Prof. Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu which has witnessed a larger participation of the students from the far-flung areas. All the affiliated colleges from Jammu province were distributed into 5 Zones; Tawi Zone, Pir- Panjal Zone, Devika Zone, Ravi Zone and Chenab Zone where Zonal Level Display Your Talent competitions were organized and the winners of those competitions are now competing in Inter Zonal Level.

The Special attraction of today’s event was the Cultural Presentation by the students of Shivaji University, Kolhapur who have specially come from Kolhapur to Jammu for Cultural Exchange programme. The spectacular performances received the standing ovation from the audience. The 30 member contingent was headed by Dr. Tanaji Chougule, Director, Students Development Department, Shivaji University Kolhapur, Dr. Raghunath Dhamakale, Management Council Member, Shivaji University Kolhapur, Mr. Swagat Parulekar, Management Council Member, Shivaji University Kolhapur, Mr. Pramod Shankar Patil, Mrs. Surekha Adake, Mr. Vijay Ingavle and Mr. Sujeet Mundhe.

The events of DSW are conceived, planned and organised by the team consisting of Prof. Prakash Antahal (Dean Students Welfare), Prof. Monika Chadha (Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee), Prof. Sarika Manhas (Co-Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee), Dr. Pritam Singh (Associate Dean SW), Dr. Shallu Sharma & Dr. A.R. Manhas (Deputy Chief Proctors), Dr. Harleen Kaur & Dr. Ripudaman Parihar (Assistant Dean, SW), members of Campus Cultural Committee, Ms Mansi Mantoo (Media Officer) and Ifra Kak (Cultural Officer). The events were witnessed by the members of Campus Cultural Committee, teachers, students, scholars of the University of Jammu and prominent members of the civil society.

The hall was managed by Ivleen Kaur, Dilpreet Kaur, Ananya, Purvi, Sunaina, Ranjeet, Naresh, Jhanvi and Adnan. Sachin Sharma, Gagandeep Singh & R.P. Singh. The sound was looked after by Kulbhushan Thakur and Arif Paul. The winners of Second and Third positions would be felicitated on 18^th December, 3 pm and winners of First Positions would be felicitated on 19^th December at 4 pm at Brig. Rajinder Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu.

On 18^th December 2025, the events of Group Song Indian, Light Vocal Solo, Classical Vocal Solo, Classical Instrumental (P&NP) would be conducted at Brig. Rajinder Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu, 10am onwards.
