NSS Campus Unit-VI, Kathua Campus (JU) celebrates National Unity Day

NSS Campus Unit-VI, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu celebrated National Unity Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India. The event was organized to promote the spirit of unity, integrity, and national integration among students and staff.

As part of the celebration, NSS volunteers and students delivered speeches, poems, and messages on the theme of national integration, highlighting the importance of unity in diversity. The event created an atmosphere of patriotism and collective pride, reflecting the true essence of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas.

Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Rector, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu in his message highlighted the vision and leadership of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in unifying the nation. He emphasized that the youth must draw inspiration from Patel’s life and work collectively to uphold national integrity and harmony.

Prof. Vishav Raksha, Convener, NSS Campus Units, University of Jammu in her message lauded the efforts of NSS volunteers for actively participating in national events that foster patriotism and social awareness. She remarked that such celebrations remind students of their responsibility toward nation-building and community service.

Dr. Hema Gandotra, Programme Coordinator, NSS Campus Units, University of Jammu in her message appreciated the enthusiasm of NSS volunteers and underscored the importance of youth involvement in promoting unity and inclusivity. She said that NSS instills in students the spirit of collective responsibility and service to the nation.

The celebration began with the administration of the National Unity Day Pledge, led by Dr. Sourabh Shastri, Programme Officer, NSS Unit-VI, Kathua Campus. Faculty members, staff, and NSS volunteers solemnly took the pledge to preserve and strengthen the unity, integrity, and security of the nation.

The programme was coordinated by NSS volunteers Deepanshu Uttam and Abhilasha Gupta.
