University of Jammu Organizes Inter-Collegiate Table Tennis, Football and Powerlifting (Men & Women) Tournaments 2025–26

The Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, continues its commitment to promoting physical excellence and sportsmanship among students by organizing a series of Inter-Collegiate Tournaments for the session 2025–26. The events Table Tennis, Football and Powerlifting (Men & Women) were inaugurated with great enthusiasm at the University of Jammu, attracting wide participation from affiliated colleges.

Inter-Collegiate Table Tennis (Men & Women) Tournament 2025–26

The second day of the ongoing Inter-Collegiate Table Tennis (Men & Women) Tournament 2025–26 witnessed exciting and competitive matches at the Table Tennis Hall, University of Jammu. The tournament continues to uphold the University’s vision of promoting fitness, teamwork, and a spirit of healthy competition among students.

Results (Men’s Section):

  1. MIET Jammu beat ASCOMS Jammu by 3–0.
  2. PG.Deptt.JU beat GDC Jindrah by 3-0.
  3. GCET Jammu beat GDC Hiranagar by 3-1.
  4. GMC Doda beat GMC Kathua by 3-0.
  5. GMC Jammu beat GDC Kathua by 2-1.

Results (Women’s Section):

  1. GDC Ramnagar beat GDC Doda by 3–2.

The matches were officiated by Sh. Ravish Vaid, Sahil Malgotra, and Sakshi Dabgotra, who ensured fair play and adherence to the rules of the game.

The tournament is being conducted under the overall supervision of Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu and his dedicated team have been instrumental in ensuring the smooth and efficient conduct of the event, with strong emphasis on discipline, fair play, and organizational excellence.

The participating college teams displayed remarkable skill, agility, and coordination, making the day’s fixtures highly competitive and engaging. The tournament continues to highlight the growing enthusiasm for football among students and reinforces the University’s commitment to nurturing sportsmanship, teamwork, and athletic excellence.

Results (Women’s Section):

  1. GDC Kathua beat GDC Poonch by 4-0
  2. GDC Poonch beat PG Department, University of Jammu, by 2–0

Results (Men’s Section):

  1. GMC Kathua beat GMC Jammu by 5–0.
  2. GDC Samba beat GDC Billawar by 4-0
  3. GDC Kathua beat MBS College by 3-0
  4. GDC Hiranagar beat GCET Jammu by 2-1
  5. GDC Poonch beat BDC Udhampur by 3-0

The football matches were officiated by Sh. Rahul Sharma, Sh. Dheeraj Menia, Sh. Dil Bahadur, Sh. Kartik, Sh. Shivam Gupta, Sh. Ramesh Chander, and Sh. Gagan Kumar, who ensured smooth conduct and fair play throughout the day’s fixtures.

The Inter-Collegiate Powerlifting Championship (Men & Women) 2025–26 commenced with great enthusiasm at the Gymnasium Hall, University of Jammu. The event is being organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu. The championship aims to promote physical fitness, discipline, and sportsmanship among students, aligning with the University’s vision of fostering a culture of health, strength, and competitive excellence on campus. The event witnessed participation from various affiliated colleges of the University, with athletes showcasing their strength, determination, and skill across different weight categories.
