The Display Your Talent-2024, Tawi Zone, organised by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu, concluded today at MIER College of Education with huge fanfare. The Chief Guest was Suman Gupta, an Eminent Artist and winner of the National Academy Award. Prof. Prakash Anthal, Dean, Student Welfare, University of Jammu, was the special guest. Prof. Monika Chadha, Chairperson Campus Cultural Committee, University of Jammu; Prof. Sarika Manhas, Co-Chairperson Campus Cultural Committee, University of Jammu; Dr. Renu Gupta, Chairperson MIER Group of Intuitions; Prof. Adit Gupta, Director and Principal MIER College of Education, along with HoDs, teachers, participants, and students attended the valedictory function.95287

Prof. Adit Gupta, in his welcome address  expressed heartfelt  gratitude to the Chief Guest, Special Guest, other dignitaries, participants, faculty members, students and other attendees for their presence, emphasising the significance  of the event in nurturing  creativity and showcasing student talent. He noted that more than 300 students from various colleges and departments of the University of Jammu  participated enthusiastically in the 'Display Your Talent' competition, making it a truly dynamic and inclusive platform.

Suman Gupta complimented Dean Students Welfare, University of Jammu and his entire team as well as MIER College for the successful organisation of ‘Display Your Talent’, a mega cultural festival of music, dance, theatre, fine arts, and literary activities. He extended his congratulations to  all the participants, acknowledging that their enthusiasm made an event of this scale possible. He emphasised that such activities are instrumental in shaping the overall personalities of the students. 

Prof. Prakash Anthal, speaking on the occasion, commended MIER College and the organising team for orchestrating this dynamic mega event.   He expressed his gratitude to  Prof. Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, for his innovative approach to supporting  such initiatives. He  also expressed his delight at the enthusiastic participation of a large number of students from different colleges, each  showcasing their talent. 

In today's events, the esteemed panel of judges comprised distinguished professionals from various fields. For the classical instrumental and folk instrumental categories, Prof. Renu Sehgal, Dr. Sanjay Kalotra, and Dr. Rajveer Singh served as the judges. The debate event was adjudicated by Prof. Ekta Gupta and Dr. Vandana. The dance category was overseen by Ms. Nitika Aggarwal and Ms. Parul Bhateja. Together, this esteemed panel ensured that the performances were evaluated with the utmost professionalism and fairness.

The third day of 'Display Your Talent-2024' at MIER College of Education featured music, dance, and literary competitions. In the quiz competition, GDC Akhnoor bagged the first prize, DDE, JU clinched the second prize, and MIER College of Education stood third.

In Classical Solo, Neelakshi Anand, IMFA, bagged the first prize, and Sonia Devi, GCW Parade, clinched the second prize.

In the classical instrumental competition, the two first prizes were bagged by Navraj Singh and Tashi from IMFA, Sobia bagged the second prize, and Rashi of GCW Parade bagged the third prize.

In The Group Dance Folk: The Department of Commerce, JU, won the first prize; GCW, Parade, bagged the second prize; DDE, JU, clinched the third prize; and MIER College of Education received the Certificate of Merit.

 The events were coordinated by Dr. Pritam Singh, Associate Dean SW, Dr. Shallu Sharma, Dr. A.R. Manhas, Deputy Chief Proctors, Dr. Harleen Kaur, Dr. Ripudaman Parihar, Assistant Deans SW, Sumeet Sharma, Drama Instructor, Ifra Kak, Cultural Officer, Kulbhushan Thakur, and Arif Paul.

The core organising team from MIER College was composed of Prof. Nishta Rana, Head SoE; Dr. Monika Bajaj, Head SSSH; Dr. Bharti Tandon, Deputy Head SoE; Dr. Reeta Dwivedi, Convener Co-Curricular Committee; Dr. Komal Sharma, NSS PO, IQAC team, along with the faculty members of both SoE and SSSH.

The valedictory session concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Dr. Monika Bajaj, Head, School of Social Sciences and Humanities, MIER College of Education.
