JU's Research Journal "Tasalsul" figures in UGC-CARE List

"Tasalsul"- the research journal of the Department of Urdu, University of Jammu, has achieved the remarkable distinction of being the first journal from the University to be included in the UGC-CARE list. This milestone reflects the journal's commitment to excellence and its significant contribution to the academic landscape.

Prof Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor,  University of Jammu commended Prof Shohab Inayat Malik, Head of the Department of Urdu and Editor-in-Chief of "Tasalsul," for this achievement. He expressed optimism that the journal will continue to garner recognition and acclaim within the Urdu scholarly community worldwide. 

Started in 1998 by the then HoD Prof Zahur-ud-Din, "Tasalsul" has been publishing high-quality research papers biannually, earning admiration from students, scholars, and professors across Indian universities. Under the headship of Prof Shohab Inayat Malik, the journal has produced several noteworthy special editions, including the Manuscript Number, Sir Sayeed Number, Rasa Javedani Number, Urdu in the 21st Century, Faiz Ahmed Faiz Number, and Sadat Hussain Mantoo Number.

These editions have received widespread acclaim within the Urdu literary sphere.The journey to securing a place in the UGC-CARE list began three years ago under the headship of Prof Mohd Reyaz Ahmad.
