One day Seminar on "Remembering Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar the maker of modern India” organised at JU

SCST Cell University of Jammu in collaboration with SCST Teachers Association University of Jammu organised a one day seminar entitled “Remembering Dr. Baba saheb Ambedkar the maker of modern India” the event was organised in Brigadier Rajinder Singh Auditorium of the University.

Prof. Satinder Kumar, Liaison Officer, SCST Cell University of Jammu and President, SCST Teachers Association University of Jammu welcome chief guest Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Professor Umesh Rai, speakers, University fraternity, Non teaching employes, Research Scholars and local guests. 

The Chief Guest Prof. Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu underscored the significant contributions of Babasaheb Ambedkar to modern India. In his address, the Vice Chancellor emphasized Dr. Ambedkar's pivotal role in shaping India's economic, constitutional, and educational policies, highlighting him as one of the foremost personalities of contemporary India.

Prof Rai urged the audience to move beyond mere commemoration and actively incorporate the principles and values espoused by Dr. Ambedkar into their everyday actions. He emphasized that true homage to Dr. Ambedkar lies not only in remembering him on his Birth Anniversary but in embodying his ideals of social justice, equality, and empowerment in our interactions and decisions.

Dr. Pravin Kumar Atul, Scientist from NIMR, ICMR, New Delhi was the Guest of Honor, being Scientist from Veterinary Sciences, highlighted the importance of association of animals and Humans. He spoke on the contribution of Babasaheb Ambedkar for the modern India as well as highlighted the role of Baba sahib in propagating human values through Buddhism. 

Dr Urmila Devi Singh, Retd. Additional Secretary, UGC, New Delhi was the main speaker of the function she emphasized on the role of Babasaheb in the upliftment of Indian women that women of the country shall stand in neck to neck with the men and participating participate in developing India into vishvaguru. 

All members of SCST Cell and SCST Teachers Association University of Jammu, Non teaching employes, Research Scholars and local guests were present. Dr. Kajal Kalsi, conducted the proceedings of the programme.

Dr. Tirth Ram gave a formal vote of thanks and expressed her sincere appreciation to the Chief guest, eminent speakers, University fraternity, Research Scholars and local guests.
